January 21 – Silver Lining, Movement 3 by Frank Ticheli

Frank Ticheli’s concerto for flute and wind ensemble, Silver Lining, was commissioned by a consortium of schools across the US, including the University of South Carolina in 2017 and premiered by Jim Walker at the National Flute Association Convention in Minneapolis in August, 2017. The third movement, posted here, is a rapid-fire conversation between flutist and ensemble, exploring the entire range of the instrument.  This is a live performance of the University of South Carolina Symphonic Winds under the direction of Dr. Cormac Cannon at the College Band Directors National Association meeting in Tampa in February, 2018 with Jennifer Parker-Harley, soloist.
